What this calculator does
Most registration cost advice online gives round numbers with no source. This calculator takes a different approach. It lists every cost you are likely to meet, shows a figure only where we can link a source, and says "Get a quote" for the rest. That means the total it prints is the part of your cost that we can stand behind, and the real total will be higher.
The costs we can source
- The Commission's registration fee is $0. The Commission says there is no cost to register with it. The cost is the audit, paid to an approved quality auditor.
- The NDIS Worker Orientation Module is free. The Commission describes it as free and online.
- Our package is $1,500 AUD, once. It is 220+ editable Word documents covering the Core Module and Modules 1 to 5, emailed after purchase. It does not include documents written for the SIL supplementary module.
The costs that need a quote
The Commission does not set audit prices. It says cost depends on the size and scale of your organisation and the number of participants you support, and it recommends getting more than one quote from the approved quality auditors list, using your Initial scope of audit. The audit rules also list what an auditor confirms in your scope: your registration groups, the types of participants you support, where your services are delivered, the number and location of sites, and the number of participants and workers. That is why this tool asks about modules, sites and team size. Insurance, worker screening fees, consultant fees and later audits also need quotes or current fee checks. Our guide to choosing an NDIS auditor explains how to compare quotes.
What the inputs change
Your audit pathway decides whether a mid-term audit appears, because the Commission describes that audit for providers who first completed a certification audit. The modules you tick decide whether we warn you about documents that our package does not cover, such as the SIL supplementary module. The number of sites adds a line for additional sites, because auditors choose which sites to visit. Team size sets how many people need worker screening and the free orientation module. Your documentation choice adds one line: nothing for writing it yourself, $1,500 for our package, or a quote for a consultant.
How to use the result
Treat the breakdown as a checklist. Each line is something to price before you commit. Then read our registration cost guide, which gives wider planning context. Its figures are our own estimates rather than official numbers. If you have not worked out your audit pathway, start with the registration pathway checker.
